Prep Gentleman, Ladies, Fathers and Brothers,
I received a call from Pierce King '64 this morning telling that Coach Joe McGlynn died on
Sunday morning, September 4th. The information below will help those
planning to attend.
Coach was 73 years old. He arrived at the
prep 50 years ago this past August and stayed until it closed in
1989. We're thankful that Pierce and Frank O'Donnell '64 played such
a wonderful role in finding Coach prior the 2002 reunion and looking
out for his welfare since 2002. Coach McGlynn played a strong role
as a teacher, educator on and off the field and as an away from home
father for a great number of us.
In his later years, Coach had 1 dream and
that was to go to Ireland where his family was from. Through the
warmth and generosity of so many preps, that dream came true. He
felt his life was complete.....
